First aid is the immediate care given to someone who is injured or suddenly becomes ill, before professional medical help is available. Its main objectives are to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, and promote recovery. This can range from simple tasks like cleaning a wound to life-saving actions such as performing CPR.

First Aid At Work (FAW)
What is First Aid at Work?
The First Aid at Work (FAW) course is a comprehensive training program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to provide effective first aid in the workplace. This course meets the legal requirements for first aid provision under health and safety regulations and is ideal for those working in higher-risk environments such as construction, manufacturing, or large office settings.
Participants will learn how to assess and manage a wide range of injuries and medical conditions until professional help arrives. The course combines theory with hands-on practice, including CPR, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and treatment of bleeding, burns, fractures, and other common workplace incidents.
Who Should Attend:
This course is suitable for:
• Designated workplace first aiders
• Employees in medium- to high-risk work environments
• Anyone who wants comprehensive first aid training for professional or personal development

• Requalification is required before certificate expiry
• Annual refresher training is recommended
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Assess and manage emergency situations safely and effectively.
• Perform adult CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• Provide first aid to a casualty who is unconscious, including placing them in the recovery position.
• Manage life-threatening conditions such as choking, severe bleeding, shock, and burns.
• Administer first aid for minor injuries, fractures, sprains, head injuries, chest pains, and eye injuries.
• Recognise and respond to common medical emergencies including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes, seizures, and anaphylaxis.
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of a workplace first aider.
• Maintain accurate incident records and follow workplace reporting procedures.
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
What is Eergency First Aid at Work?
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is a 1-day training program designed to provide individuals with the essential skills and knowledge to respond to emergency medical situations in low-risk workplace environments. It meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and is ideal for businesses that require a designated first aider but operate in lower-risk settings such as offices, shops, or small businesses.
The course focuses on how to manage an emergency, perform basic life support, and deal with common injuries and illnesses until professional medical help arrives.

• Appointed first aiders in low-risk workplaces
• Employees or individuals seeking basic first aid knowledge
• Anyone wanting to build confidence in handling everyday first aid situations

Paediatric First Aid
What is Paediatric First Aid?
The Paediatric First Aid course is a comprehensive training program designed for individuals responsible for the care of babies and young children. It meets the requirements set by Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, making it ideal for childminders, nursery staff, early years practitioners, and primary school teachers.
The course provides the skills, knowledge, and confidence to effectively respond to a range of childhood medical emergencies, injuries, and illnesses.

This course is suitable for:
• Nursery and pre-school staff
• Childminders and nannies
• Teachers and classroom assistants (especially in EYFS)
• Parents, guardians, and carers wanting confidence in responding to child emergencies

Emergency Paediatric
What is Emergency Paediatric?
This 1-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course is specifically designed for staff working in schools, nurseries, early years settings, and childminding environments. The course provides essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively to medical emergencies involving babies and young children.
It meets the statutory requirements outlined by Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for those working with children part-time or as part of a team where a full Paediatric First Aid (2-day) qualification is also held by other staff.

First Aid at Work Requalification
What is First Aid at Work Requalification?
The First Aid at Work Requalification Course is a 2-day training programme designed for individuals who currently hold a valid First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate and need to renew it before it expires (within 3 years). The course ensures first aiders remain competent, up to date, and confident in their ability to respond to a wide range of workplace first aid emergencies.
This course meets the standards set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and is suitable for all workplaces where a full FAW qualification is required.
Who Should Attend:
• Employees whose First Aid at Work certificate is nearing expiry
• Designated workplace first aiders in high-risk environments (e.g. construction, manufacturing, warehouses, large offices)
Note: Requalification must be completed within 28 days of the original certificate’s expiry date to maintain certification without re-taking the full 3-day course.

• Maintain confidence and competence in administering first aid in real-life situations
First Aid Annual Refresher
What is First Aid Annual Refresher?
The First Aid Annual Refresher Course is a short, 3-hour training session recommended by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to help qualified first aiders maintain their knowledge and skills during the 3-year validity period of their First Aid at Work (FAW) or Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificates.
Although not mandatory, this refresher helps first aiders stay confident and prepared to act effectively in an emergency, ensuring best practice and compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
Who Should Attend:
• Holders of current FAW or EFAW certificates
• Designated workplace first aiders in any industry
• Employers wanting to enhance workplace readiness and first aid standards

Essential Basic Life Support
What is Essential Basic Life Support?
The Essential Basic Life Support (BLS) Course provides participants with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to respond effectively to life-threatening emergencies. This course focuses on the immediate recognition of cardiac arrest, delivery of high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Suitable for both healthcare professionals and members of the public, this course ensures learners are confident and capable of taking quick, lifesaving action in emergency situations.
Who Should Attend:
• Healthcare professionals (clinical and non-clinical staff)
• First aiders and emergency responders
• Teachers, fitness instructors, and childcare providers
• General members of the public seeking CPR/AED training

• Perform high-quality chest compressions and rescue breaths
• Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively
• Place an unconscious breathing person in the recovery position
• Respond confidently until professional help arrives
Action For Anaphylaxis
What is Action For Anaphylaxis?
The Action for Anaphylaxis Course provides essential training for recognising and responding effectively to life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis). Designed for schools, early years settings, carers, and workplace staff, this course equips participants with the confidence and practical skills to act quickly and safely during an anaphylactic emergency.
The course includes up-to-date guidance on the use of adrenaline auto-injectors (e.g. EpiPen®, Jext®, Emerade®) and aligns with UK Resuscitation Council recommendations.

• School staff and early years practitioners
• Parents and carers of children with severe allergies
• First aiders and workplace staff
• Club leaders, sports coaches, hospitality workers
